We will be watching a recording a of a presentation previously given to "The Online Coldfusion Meetup" (http://www.meetup.com/coldfusionmeetup/) - which is a great resource for Coldfusion developers.

The recording we will be watching is: "FW/1 - The Invisible Framework", with Sean Corfield (http://corfield.org/)

Here is the description from the CF Meetup Site:

ColdFusion has always been about simplicity and "getting stuff done". I created Framework One (FW/1) in that same spirit: with just one file and some simple conventions, you won't even notice you're using it! If the learning curve, code bloat and XML have put you off other frameworks, find out why developers are saying "FW/1 is perfect" and how you can use it to just focus on your code, be productive and stop worrying about "the framework".

Sean is currently CEO of Railo Technologies US. He has worked in IT for over twenty five years, starting out writing database systems and compilers then moving into mobile telecoms and finally into web development in 1997. Along the way, he worked on the ISO and ANSI C++ Standards committees for eight years and is a staunch advocate of software standards and best practice. Sean has championed and contributed to a number of CFML frameworks and was lead developer on Fusebox for two years.

Sean will be joining us via video conference after the presentation for a Q&A session.

Don't forget that every person who attends the meeting will get 1 entry for our next software raffle, and anyone who brings someone new will get an extra ticket.

As always we'll adjourn to a nearby establishment for food, drinks and talk (both shop- and non-) after the presentations.

No January 2010 CFUG Meeeting

We'll be back in February, see you then.

December CFUG Pub Night, and Prize Draw

On December 23rd we will meet at the Brazen Head at 7pm to talk tech and enjoy some eggnog.

December is always a bit hectic what with the holidays, so we are playing it low key this year and just having a pub night for December. As added enticement to come out, we have a lot of software to give away.

We will be raffling off a copy of CS4 Web Standard or ColdFusion 9 Standard, as well as a copy of FlexBuilder 3 Professional.

We hope to see you there! We'll be on the ground floor and should be easy to spot, just look for a group of people with notebook computers.

No November CFUG Toronto Meeting

We generally hold our CFUG meetings monthly, on the third Wednesday of the month. We're taking a break this month, so there will not be a CFUG meeting in November.

We will be back in December.

Stay tuned for more details next month.
